Chiropractic

Chiropractors are best known for treatment of neck and back pain. Chiropractic may also help relieve postural stress, headache, shoulder, arm, wrist and hand, hip, knee and foot pain. A Chiropractic physician is an excellent first choice to evaluate most types of muscle and joint pain, numbness, weakness, vertigo or activity limitations. Most but not all patients are appropriate candidates for spinal manipulation. Dr. LeMay understands this and never hesitates to promptly refer a patient when indicated and has excellent working relationships with medical specialists in internal medicine, neurology, neurosurgery and orthopedics. X-ray facilities are available on site at Bull Run Chiropractic Clinic if necessary.

Chiropractic health care emphasizes the relationship between the structure and function of the human body. Mechanical, postural and repetitive stress may result in chronic pain and inflammation. Acute trauma such as slips and falls, auto crashes and on-the-job injuries may cause bone fracture, muscle injury and ligament tearing with resulting pain and disability. Dr. LeMay is highly trained as both a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.), requiring 4 years following undergraduate college and as a Registered Nurse (R.N.) with bachelors degree in nursing. Skilled Chiropractic spinal adjustments, also known as manual manipulation of the spine and and extremities has been demonstrated in many peer-reviewed published studies to be very safe, and effective for relief of symptoms. Chiropractic has been demonstrated to be a lower cost alternative in many cases. Dr. LeMay uses a variety of "hands-on" Chiropractic adjustments help restore normal joint motion and reduce muscle spasm and pain. Massage, physiotherapy, stretching, athletic taping and exercise also help speed recovery. A person who has balanced posture, symmetrical flexibility and strength will generally be a person with fewer complaints of pain.
